B O R I N G! I expected more out of this movie for sure. The acting was alright but I was not moved at all by this story. Realistic in some areas but too long and too slow. I usually get very emotional at movies based on content but this one just did not have what it takes. A disappointment.

very good flick a little long at times not the ended I expected really nice film best role for Travolta since PULP FICTION

I thought this was a good movie. I enjoyed it all up until the end. Then I felt the producers were trying a bit too hard to extract extra emotion from me. Loved Travolta though.

The song "Shine Your Light" is an Academy award winner for best song of the year.

I`m suprised that not many theatres are showing this movie now. It`s not the greatest movie you will see, but it`s a very touching one. It basically pays tribute to firefighters. The story is a bit slow. It`s not dramatic, not much exaggeration - simply plainly show you what a firefighter has to face in his job and in his life, very realistic. John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix act very well in this movie. You may not want to pay $13 to watch it, but I highly recommend you to watch it on Tue, Matinee price or rent it on video

I enjoyed this movie immensely. My father was a firefighter for over 35 years and the one scene where the firefighter falls through the floor happened to my father and fortunately they got him out before the fire made it impossible to rescue him. He also saw the movie and found it to be very close to the real things that happen at a fire. He has rescued many people and also had to retrieve dead victims. I would recommend this movie to all.
