Unlike most of its contemporaries, Pacific Theatres is an Academy Award-winning theater corporation. It won the 1978 Oscar for Technical Achievement for its Cine-Fi sound system, which allowed drive-in viewers to receive soundtrack audio from their car radios. Founded in 1946 and owned by The Decurion Corporation, Pacific Theatres operates 96 screens in 16 theaters throughout Southern California, entertaining more than 5 million guests annually. It is headquartered in Beverly Hills, California.
