3 stars. Very original concept, nice use of imagery and beautiful love story. However it dragged, a lot, and the whole middle hour was quite boring. The cover of the songs are alright. I am a huge Beatles fan and hold true to my original idea that Beatles songs should not be covered, especially by weak actors with weak voices (i.e. Evan Rachel Wood)

In love with it. So sad it wasn't in my hometown - had to travel to see it but it was worth it!

My wife saw the preview and I read the reviews and decided to see this movie. Having thoroughly enjoyed Moulin Rouge, I thought this might be something to that effect. Although it started strong and ended well, the middle hour was quite random. From psychadelic scenes to a purely random appearance from "southern" Bono, I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. However, the movie doesn't deserve the 1 star ratings it has procured. The Beatles remakes were quite original (even if obvious - the main characters are Jude and Lucy), the scenery and filmmaking well done. It was just the abstraction and stretches to make a story fit the songs that weakened it. A fair movie and worth seeing.
