An orphan girl (Dixie Egerickx) travels by train to live with her uncle (Colin Firth) in a mysterious house. He tells her if she causes any trouble, she'll be sent away. While out playing on her uncle's estate, she stumbles upon a secret garden. Soon after, she discovers another secret—she has a wheelchair-bound cousin named Colin (Edan Hayhurst). Along with a local boy named Dickon (Amir Wilson), she sneaks Colin out of the dark house and into the light of the garden.
