After their father tragically commits suicide by standing on the train tracks, celebrated concert pianist Elf (Sarah Gadon) has a deep desire to follow in his footsteps. When her sister Yoli (Alison Pill) gets a call from her mother (Mare Winningham) that Elf has tried to kill herself, she rushes to Elf's bedside.
