Great action flick! The special effects were great. If your looking for a great story this isn't it. It was pure heart pounding action.

Such a waste of time. There wasn't a story line. There are 2 parts of this movie, dark scenes to bright sea ocean. The shark AKA MEG 2 definitely looked a toy. They tried to imitate "Jaws" but very poor display. A lot was put into the movie but it didn't feel real.

I actually found the final twenty minutes silly, tedious, laborious, and completely unworthy of a promising and engrossing beginning. It still rates a solid 4/5, but the last act brings the whole movie down. 4/5

So, I was not expecting anything in the way of plot, and certainly didn't get any... but for the first 2/3, the movie was brutally bad - boring, monotonous, lifeless, and even the action sequences were dull. One of the people I was with literally fell asleep during that whole underwater walking sequence for the mining, etc. A totally dull subplot and very unengaging villains (villains are, of course, human not shark!). I was tempted to walk out halfway (1/5 stars to this point). HOWEVER, the last 1/3 more than made up for it. The non-stop, over the top ludicrous nature of the action, "near escapes", and gore made it laughable but ENJOYABLE. Another reviewer said it right - this moght turn into a cult classic - that will be based on the last portion of the movie. I went from sleepy-eyed to teary-eyed with laughter. Perhaps this wasn't the reaction that the moviemakers were after, but it was laughable... in a great way. If you can survive the extreme monotony of the first 2/3, the last part will make you laugh, and it will entertain you. Slightly skewed overall score: 4/5.

It’s pretty good, they did a great job with the visuals and the plot and storyline, I enjoyed it!

Like Jason Statham, but even he can't save this piece. Pitiful!

Jason Statham and the story.

OK I saw the film. Definitely a gallant effort at making a great movie, but it missed the mark on so many levels. Way too much unintended culture clash, too much bogus science. The film was too busy, they tried to put too many cool occurrences in the movie, 10% of them actually worked. However, I can see this movie becoming a cult classic. It is not horrible, it reminded me of a 1960's Godzilla/Mothea movie only with modern cinematography. I'm not saying don't see the film, but know going in it was a collaboration of China and USA film makers. It is better but there is still work to be done.
