In the trailer for Diary of a Future President, Presidential candidate Elena Cañero Reed (Gina Rodriguez) rediscovers the diary she began when she was 12, which includes details of her daily life, including her mother, older brother and best friend Sasha. Her life takes a turn when her mother begins dating, but although young Elena faces a number of challenges, she realizes she won't have to do it alone.
