LOUIS LETERRIER

Date of Birth: June 17, 1973

Born in Paris, France to a filmmaker father and a costumer designer mother, Louis Leterrier won several awards for his short films before moving to the U.S. to study filmmaking at New York University. His first job in the film industry was as a production assistant on Alien: Resurrection (1997). Leterrier returned to France, where he worked as Luc Besson's assistant on The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999). After taking jobs as second assistant director on Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cléopatre (2002) and L'idole (2002), he returned to the States where he was artistic director on The Transporter (2002), co-written and produced by Besson.

Leterrier then made his feature directorial debut with Unleashed (2005), an action picture starring Jet Li, before taking over as director for the sequel to The Transporter. Next, he directed the blockbuster The Incredible Hulk (2008), starring Edward Norton.
