Jayne Eastwood

Jayne Eastwood was born in Toronto, Ontario. She attended Northern Secondary School and her family would spend summers at the cottage. Jayne also spent a lot of time skiing during the winter.

She originally started her career as a painter, but started acting on a whim when a friend invited her to play a role in a local show. An acing agent in the audience discovered her and started getting her jobs acting in commercials.

Jayne started on television shows and in movies in small roles, but she is still known for some of her early work including the shows King of Kensington (1979-1980) as Gwen Twining, Material World (1990-1992) as Bernice, and Noddy (1998-2000) as Aunt Agatha Flugelschmidt. Jayne is also known for some of her early films including Finders Keepers (1984) as Anna-Marie Biddlecoff, and The Santa Clause (1994) as Judy the Waitress.

Jayne is also known as a voice actor, with roles on JoJo’s Circus (2003-2011), Babar (1989–1991) and Haven (2013).

A Canadian icon, she has had roles in many Canadian films and TV series and continues to work. Jayne’s most recent films include My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (2023) and Heroes of the Golden Masks (2023).

Jayne has been nominated for many awards over the course of her career, and won the Earle Grey Award in 1999 at the Gemini Awards. She also won the 1999 ACTRA Toronto Award of Excellence, and a Canadian Screen Award in 2021 for Best Lead Performance in the series Hey Lady!, to name just a few. 

Jayne was married to American screenwriter and actor David Flaherty until his death in June 2017. They have three children together named Olivia, Alicia, and Dave Flaherty. Her brother-in-law is Joe Flaherty. ~Mackenzie Heidrick
