DAVE FRANCO
Date of Birth: June 12, 1985
Dave Franco, whose childhood hero and influence was Roald Dahl, was born in California. His family is of Portuguese, Swedish and Russian descent. Franco has two brothers, one of whom is award-winning actor James Franco.
He wasn't always interested in acting, having concentrated on writing and poetry during high school. It wasn't until college when Franco showed an interest in being in front of cameras.
He was a series regular in Scrubs and is in the Funny or Die web series called Acting with James Franco. He also starred with Emma Roberts in the MTV Super Video for Cults. Other television credits include regular roles on FOX's Do Not Disturb, the hit ABC Family comedy Greek on The CW's Privileged.
Dave played a high school bully in Superbad, Fright Night and 21 Jump Street.
He starred alongside Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg and Morgan Freeman in Now You See Me. In his spare time, Dave continues to pursue writing. His short film, called Would You, which he wrote and starred in, was accepted into the 2012 SXSW Film Festival. He also starred alongside Zac Efron and Seth Rogen in the comedy Neighbors (2014), and can be seen in the magical sequel Now You See Me 2 (2016), as well as the thriller Nerve (2016) alongside Emma Roberts.
Most recently, he has roles in films such as The Little Hours (2017), The LEGO NINJAGO Movie (2017) and The Disaster Artist (2017), which also stars his brother, James Franco, who directed the film as well.
Dave currently lives in Los Angeles with his two cats, Harry and Arturo. He is married to actress Alison Brie.
