Returning to the movies, Amanda has been seen in supporting roles as Julie Beckley in Alpha Dog (2007) and as Zoe in Solstice (2007). Amanda starred opposite Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan in the summer musical Mamma Mia! (2008) and later reprised her role in the 2018 sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
In 2009 she played Needy Lesnicky in Jennifer's Body (2009)—screenwriter Diablo Cody's follow up to Juno (2007) then played Savannah Curtis in the box office hit Dear John (2010).
