Things to Come

In the premiere trailer for the French drama Things to Come, a seemingly content family of four walk across the autumnal and picturesque French seaside. However, their happiness is soon interrupted when the family patriarch, Heinz (André Marcon), informs his wife, Nathalie (Isabelle Huppert), that he has met someone else and is moving in with her.

Shocked and devastated, Nathalie struggles to cope with the loss, particularly during the holidays and as her children begin to move on with their lives. She finds little solace in her demanding job as a philosophy teacher — until she reconnects with a former student named Fabien (Roman Kolinka) who teaches her to explore new and exciting paths otherwise untouched.
