Pulitzer Prize-winning author Isabel Wilkerson (Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor) turns down an assignment to write an article about Trayvon Martin's murder, but finds she can't get his death out of her mind. After suffering personal losses of her own, she decides to confront her trauma and begin research on a book that examines discrimination around the world.
