In the teaser trailer for Pixar's Onward, we are transported to a magical world that has become modernized. Magical creatures such as trolls, centaurs, fauns, goblins, mermaids, and gnomes all live regular, mundane lives. So much so that elf Barley Lightfoot's (Chris Pratt) old-time demeanor sticks out like a sore thumb in embarrassing his little brother Ian (Tom Holland). When Ian is given a mysterious errand to run, Barley joins him seeing this as an opportunity to go on a magical quest.
