When the Nazis invade Poland, Irena Gut (Sophie Nélisse) loses her job as a nurse and is forced to work alongside the Nazi party. She's assigned to run the home of a Nazi commandant (Dougray Scott) where she puts her life on the line to save Jewish men and women directly under his nose.
