Why did True Grit need remaking? Went home and watched the original - this was a pale imitation.
Excellent interpretation of this classic western movie I found that this version highlighted the human element of the story. Appeals to a broader audience than your typical shoot 'em up western.

Really enjoyed the movie
Amazing movie, with a really Authentic feel to it. Yes it is not much like the original, but it is really good. if this movie is not nominated for an Oscar I will be really surprised.
Found this movie boring. The actors seem to be more interested in their performances...really, I got lost in this...it took away from the story. That's how it came through for me and also my husband. We did not enjoy it and could have walked out early but stuck it through to see if it would get better. The main actress is cute, but that's about it.
A little slow paced, enjoyed the actors.
The dude comes back to life in this remake of Paul Newman's True Grit. Jeff Bridges character as the old fogey, but lovable bounty hunter takes cues from his previous Coen brother's movies, but his sidekick Matt Damon plays off his tenacity very well. The precocious girl who's avenging her father's death is a not to be missed character...she is sure to go far in Hollywood!
Expected more from this movie with all the hype. The original is still the best with John Wayne but the acting was good in the new version. The action was still to slow to save this remake.
My family watches True Grit every Christmas. The new movie had a couple of really bad continuity errors - and I just don't know why you would do a remake of the superb original.
