OK...Let`s clear all this up right now.....Yes , the Texas Chainsaw Massacre character, Leatherface, is BASED on a real life mass murderer named Ed Gein who did wear human skin masks....that`s about it...the movie is NOT a true story....the family in the movie did not exist in his world....also he was the inspiration for the movie Psycho........look it up

I think it was a good movie. We went to see it today and it kept us at the edge of our seats. I just would like to know was it really a real story and how can i find out more information about it. I would like to inform myself on what really happened.

Scary! I left the theatre shaken and wondering could I have survived that horrible night.

it will make you walk out of the theatres in shock and you will for a fact sleep with your lights on.

We thought it was very scary, realistic at times. As a child I remember living in Texas, near Childers where this happened. The movie does drift from what really happened, but it was good anyway. I was expecting to see the truth where the flesh was barbequed and served to the public. That "IS" what really happened.

It was terrifying. I literally crapped in my pants and jumped out of my seat countless times even though I have seen the original film a few times as well. The film was very well done and I think it was much better than the original. Even though the nature of the film is quite disturbing and grotesque, it keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time and the ending was as good as any horror film I have ever seen.

It was scary. I wouldn`t advise anyone who doesn`t have the stomach for to go watch.

This was pretty good... BUT JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW.. THIS IS NOT A REAL STORY... This movie is a remake of a 1974 movie..based loosely on Ed Gein, a Wisconsin farmer who robbed graves , allegedly engaged in necrophilia and cannibalism, and murdered at least two women in the 1950s . In the movie..it says that the massacre in texas happened in 1973..that obviously dispells the original tcm made in 1974 to be based on a true story....either way..this remake was pretty good
