Beautiful film. Great acting, great score, great cinematography! Amazing to see how the cranky history teacher and the supposedly spoiled kid evolve over the course of the movie and find their mutual weaknesses and deep secrets. I sure hope that Mary will get and Oscar for her excellent performance this weekend!

Yepp, great movie. Paul Giamati is great, Mary superb. Oscars are calling, I hope.

From the vintage film company logos, to the soundtrack, the pacing and performances, camera angles, costuming, and set dec; this movie encapsulates Christmas memories. As if flipping through a vintage family photo album or old holiday postcards. There is a familiarity to this film; and it has truly cemented itself as a new holiday classic.

Tragic, endearing, wonderful character development and storyline. Really enjoyed entering their complex and intricate lives! Very funny too!

Never judge a book by its cover. My era, brings back memories.

Charming, heart warming story with smart humor. Paul Giamati is spot on . . . and so is the rest of the cast. It's nice to see we have not forgotten how to make movies. After what won the Oscar last year. And a number of equally bizarre movies that followed on it's path, it's nice to see that charming doesn't get old.

If u were a Teenager in the 60s or 70s, u will relate to this movie. Paul Giamati is AMAZING! This story is based on true events that actually happened to me in the 70s at a private school that was too far from home for me to leave for Xmas break. 3 of us became sad Holdovers!

A lot of the characters’ choices they make are because they think they have to. When they discover they can make their own decisions, it is a delight to see.
