"I laughed and I cried, I laughed and I cried" I was able to connect with the story and feel the emotions of the characters. What a pleasant surprise!

The pacing of this movie is a little choppy. Sometimes the camera lingers too long on the face of the little girl, Liesel, as if only to let the audience see how lovely she is. It didn't add to the emotional tone or the story. The events didn't unfold or flow nicely either. Editing problem? Awesome! The story is dense and full of sensation. It could be more profound if there would be more scene of historic value. Thus, it could become a great masterpiece of its genre. It must turn into a major thriller though.

Very inspirational and touching movie! Great character development and plot. I watched this movie with my wife, and we both loved how the movie unfolded. Although the actors/actresses are not well known, they performed great. Highly recommended!

I really loved The Book Thief! The two main child actors were amazing as well as the emotional performances of the parents. I was also inspired by this story of perseverance during difficult times and of the power of a loving family. I highly recommend this film especially if you love books and words!

I thought it was a lovely story even though there were definitely some sad moments. It was definitely an eye opener to not only what the Jewish people faced during the Holocaust but also the German people.
