I love movies that are authentic and I love a happy ending. This movie - shot in hispanic neighbourhoods in Los Angeles, often using actors who aren`t professional - has both. And while this movie says a lot about the mexican-american experience and about adolescence in general, it says it in a way that is funny, heartfelt and just plain charming.

We saw "pulse" yesterday in a full theatre and "quinceanera" today with only three other people in attendance. There is something wrong with the world of cinema when world cinema gets relegated to a few showing in a small theatre. If you like small stories with big themes, this is the movie to see.
