this movie exemplifies just how hard it is to go back. Once a time in your life has passed, it is impossible to recaputure with the same feelings. It leaves you almost empty. It is better to be grateful for where you are now, and know every 10 years or so you are a new person and thank God we are.

Old Joy is such an amazingly sad movie. It was quiet, subtle and nothing "profound" really happens. However, it was one of the best expressions of isolation and sorrow in a movie that I have seen in a long time. Be sure to be in a "good place" mentally if you want to venture into this one...
