Really good documentary about Hugh Hefner, founder of PLAYBOY magazine and one of the founders of the sexual revolution. PLAYBOY's success spawned an array of sex mag imitators, many of them with superior pictorial content; but PLAYBOY still had good articles and fiction to accompany its rather innocent photo spreads. Yeah, yeah..."I only read it for the articles." But every sex magazine I've ever read had good writing. No exception.

blah blah blah, that's all it is, him rambling on about himself, over and over again. he's a ugly man, that only got laid because he was rich, plain and simple. if he had no money, not one of those girls would even breath in his direction.

This movie was very interesting for those you hadn't followed the life of Hugh Hefner. He comes out as very interesting and very driven. He was definitely at the forefront and chose a unpopular avenue and managed to open the minds of many people that way whether you like or believe in the magazine Playboy or not.

An uncharacteristically balanced portrait of Hugh Hefner: not overly sentimental but poignant and revealing. A fascinating look beyond the Playboy mogul's media caricature at his significant contribution to free speech, as well as equality for women and minorities. A great doc.

a very interesting and in depth look at the life and times of hugh hefner. i saw this at the world premiere at tiff last fall and i have to say, although a little long, it was really interesting.
