Absolutely awful.
This movie was too hyper. Relied on sight gags/jokes. Not enough fleshed-out plot. Characters kept mentioning cocaine and heroin. Based on the speed of the action, I wondered if the director was on coke when the movie was made. Lots of potential. Not lived up to.
Another bad Holmes & Watson film-one has to go back to some of the BBC productions from the 90's to having seen a good Holmes & Watson fare. This film is not even funny-one stares and waits to laugh and the audience is largely silent-maybe the biggest thing that is becoming clear is that the Holmes & Watson is not best shown as a matter of comedy but to presented seriously.
Apparently people don't know how to laugh anymore
So sad this was a pointless screenplay. And Alan Mencken writing a song the is so similar to Beauty and the Beast. It was hard to see this promising comedy with a great paring of Ferrell and Reilly go wrong
Nice costumes and decorations. Silly plot and humor. Sorry Mr. Conan Doyle for such a stupid movie.
This is the kind of film that has given comedy movies a bad name and keeps audiences away because they know it's going to be awful. Stay far, far away from this one, it's just a stinker.
YOU GO IN KNOWING IT'LL BE A SOPHOMORIC COMEDY BUT THIS WAS A SLEEPER. IT HAS PLENTY OF FUNNY MOMENTS BUT THE STORYLINE AND SCENE SELECTION KIND OF SEEM TO JUMP FORWARD A BIT
Awful movie, i slept after 1 hour
Terrible. Don't waste your money!
