I wanted so much to like this movie, but what a disappointment! Yes, the special effects were spectacular and I felt I was floating in space looking at distant earth. The thrill began and ended there. Sandra Bullock still can't act - her grunting and puffing throughout the movie seemed to simulate the sex act with a climactic (?) thrust session at re-entry to earth that left no doubt as to the sexual innuendo. Her bathing suit was explained on reentry too - finally we got to see why she was wearing it under her spacesuit. And her Russian space suit - a dead ringer for a form-fitting Nike track suit !?? Dialogue was total B-movie material, Clooney was a caricature of himself. Need I say more?

Spectacular effects, needlessly tacked on back story.

I thought I could wait to see Gravity when it came out on DVD, but I am sooooo glad I didn't! Definitely a must see on the big screen!

Really impressive! Don't wait the DVD to see this movie because 3D and big screen are an important part of the success of this movie. Before to see it, I didn't think that a movie where someone is lost in space, alone, could be interesting but you just can't stop watching it. It's easy letting go in the story, except for the "Deus ex machina" thing.

just love space movies

I think they did a really decent job of trying to let the viewer feel how it would feel like being in space. Not the usual disaster/rescue flick by any means. Only 2 people carry the movie start to finish and even then it was mostly 1 person which was impressive. Like the movie 'Buried' with Ryan Reynolds, I think it's impressive to spend little money and let the actors drive the flick. I'm sure the budget was mostly spend on effects but it was based in space afterall. Kind of an effects required movie.

First 5min + Last 5min = all you need to see to get the very lame/weak story line; however, the imagery of Earth from space is visually amazing!

People who didn't like this movie, are dumb.
