An amazing story about the pre-European Americas... A credible taste of what life might have looked like in one of the greatest civilizations in the world. It makes one wonder, if both societies would never had come into contact, how th eworld would look like today...a more technological society in Europa? a community more in sync. with nature here in the Americas (still some technology and quite possibly warring tribes, but still more respectuful and in harmony with their surroundings). Inspiring moview, indeed. Cheers, k.

Mel is an absolute genius and anyone who says he is not can only be a complete idiot. I am overwhelmed with his talent ..... there is not a director out there who can compete with him! I was on the edge of my seat through the WHOLE movie ....,. I will watch it again!

Mel Gibsoon should have a serious head examination...being a talented performer and director does not excuse what he accomplishes with these talents. This film contains a slew of historical falsehoods and enough gore to fill several episodes of CSI.

Mel Gibson deserves the all time humanitarian award, because if you forget history - YOU WILL REPEAT HISTORY.We all have blood on our hands.

If you can`t face truth in the face, don`t see this film. It tells the true story of how the Mayan civilisation (like many others, including those of Europe at one time) was sophisticated but corrupt. I thought that the contrast was not with Christianity (which does not appear until the end) but with the `noble savages` of the jungle, who were cast as beneficent compared to the Mayans. Very graphic, though. Typical of Gibson`s visceral style and his liking for gore and evil characters--from Mad Max on.

This was a superb film!! The amazing thing is this is an actual depiction of how these people once lived and that nobody else was smart enough to make a movie like it before. 5 stars.

Incredible. Just got back and this movie completely blew me away. The story, the acting, the directing, everything was top notch. A definite 5 star film that will go down in history as a classic. I`m not a fan of Mel Gibson (before or after the "incident") but I have to hand it to him. He knows what he`s doing. Go see this in theatre, you`ll definitely want to see it on the big screen. Two thumbs up!

Brillant! A must see. How can someone even remotely say it`s racially discrimation? Come on! Tribes hunted one another and to this day, we see ethnic cleansings. Over the past decade we have witnessed an increase in genocidal attacks and a global escalation of intolerance and violence. Mass killings, ethnic "cleansings," and assaults on humanity. This movie dipicts what life was accurately like during those times.

Racial descrimination? On the contrary, Mel Gibson shows the world about the wonderful Mayan Culture that once existed! He opens the eyes to people to look into history and realize that the world changes. Movie is a must see!

Great movie! Mel Gibson does it again! He is the best director of this era, someone who knows the public is intelligent enough and deserves more than your typical Hollywood, commercial movie. Must see!
