Welcome Overview

In Pas-de-Calais, thousands of refugees line up to get into in a truck illegally bound for Britain. This is the case of Bilal, a young Kurdish man determined to join his girlfriend in London before her father marries her to another man. His savings squandered by an abortive attempt to get into the country, Bilal comes up with a crazy planéhe'll swim across the channel.

At the municipal pool, he asks Simon, a swimming instructor, to give him private lessons. Initially skeptical, Simon agrees to help, despite the risk of helping an illegal immigrant, because he wants to impress his ex-wife, a humanitarian worker committed to the cause of illegal immigrants.
