excellent movie - hope they continue the series.
great flick, not sure why critics panned it. found it entertaining beginning to end. to those who compare this to star wars and other sci-fi stories, guess what, they got those ideas from this century old series. i read the whole series as a teen and loved it then and love it still. god i hope they turn the rest into movies as good as this one :)
money well spent.
this movie was very entertaining, love the effects and the story. it has comedy, action and drama which makes a great movie! not sure if it's better than star wars but definitely a good solid movie! twists and turns never end!
for an estimated 250 million dollar movie, i can see where most of the money went. the story flowed well and the effects were what i expected: detailed and quite realistic. sadly...it didn't bring anything 'fresh' to the big screen.
wow, i thought this was a very good movie. sure, sure, not super deep or detailed, but then neither was star wars, right? i really enjoyed this, and i left the theatre hoping that the box office returns are sufficient enough to leverage a sequel. the lead actress stole the show, though: she does princes leia better then princess leia. worth seeing on the big screen, too (sorry, critics, i liked it!).
my husband and i thoroughly enjoyed it--adventure and humour combined! more people should see it and judge for themselves, instead of listening to the negative critiques! would love to see a sequel!
a fun "take you away" film. it had excellent interaction between the cgi and human characters as well as character development in back stories. some of the humour beyond the level of the audience in the theatre i was in, just as understanding the significant of the time period in which it was originally written. for those that think it is "like" star wars, fyi this is the original, and out dates sw by some 65 years. so who is like whom?
the movie was better than the reviews. good story and i liked the visual effects did not over shadow the story line.
ironic that anyone would think the story was predictable or repetitive when it may have plenty of original ideas to begin with and to still be oblivious to that... now that 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of this erb story written in 1912... it's nice to see it adapted to 21st century movie form
