The story follows the hopes and dreams of a tight-knit group of young dance students studying ballet, as they try to earn a place in a professional dance company (run by Gallagher's character), make a name for themselves and become stars in the fiercely competitive world of professional dance. Through their journey they experience the normal joys and sorrows, loves and conflicts of youth.
