MEGHAN ORY

Date of Birth: August 20, 1983

Recipient of the Fine Arts Award for Acting from the Royal Oak School in 1996, Meghan Ory was born in Victoria, British Columbia. She decided to pursue acting professionally in her mid-teens and landed her first role opposite Suzanne Somers and Timothy Busfield in the Fox Family Channel TV movie The Darklings (1999). She also made a guest appearance on The Crow: Stairway to Heaven that year before being cast as a regular on the new Fox Family series Higher Ground, starring Joe Lando. Meghan played rich, spoiled, bulimic Juliette, who lives at a school for troubled teens in the mountains. The show featured a cast of young up-and-comers, including Hayden Christensen who went on to portray Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars films. Although Higher Ground lasted only one season, Ory wasn't out of work long. She was picked up to star in the TV series Vampire High, also playing a boarding school student, but it too lasted only a year.

Meghan kept busy with guest appearances on shows such as The Outer Limits, Maybe it's Me, Dark Angel, Glory Days and Smallville before making her feature film debut in Decoys (2004) for director Matthew Hastings, with whom she'd worked on Higher Ground and Vampire High. Ory makes her home in Vancouver, British Columbia.
