Date of Birth: April 3, 1943

The versatile actor is best known as mega-powerful Victor Newman on the daytime soap, The Young and The Restless, a role he's essayed for the past 17 years. His work on Y&R has won him the industry's highest accolades, including a 1990 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Actor, the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Actor of 1988, a 1990 MVP award from Soap Opera Update Digest, and Most Popular Actor (as chosen by the fans) at the 18th People's Choice Awards.

His prolific film and television career began when the athletic Braeden and a fellow Montana State University student filmed their journey up the raging Salmon River -- the first people ever to survive this treacherous journey.

Heading to L.A. to find a distributor for the film (called The Riverbusters), he learned that German actors were much in demand. He was soon cast as Captain Dietrich on The Rat Patrol, and has since appeared in over 120 TV series and scores of made-for-television movies.

Born Hans Gudagest in Kiel, West Germany, Eric moved to the U.S. shortly after graduating high school. He is the only actor on the newly-formed German American Advisory Board, joining such illustrious company as Dr. Henry Kissinger, Alexander Haig, and Steffi Graf.
