Christine Taylor Biography

Date of Birth: July 30, 1971

Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Taylor studied acting at the Allentown Theatre School. From the age of three she acted in many community and regional productions. In her last year of high school in her hometown, she was cast as an All-American girl in the Nickelodeon sitcom Hey Dude (1989). By 1991, Taylor had moved to Los Angeles and began finding regular work as a guest performer on episodes of Dallas, Life Goes On, Saved By the Bell and Blossom.

By 1993 she made her first feature film bow in the movie Calendar Girl. But it wasn't until 1995 that she first garnered notice from theatregoers. Her portrayal of Marcia Brady in The Brady Bunch Movie was so like the original Marcia from the long-running television show it was almost frightening. Following a supporting role in The Craft, she reprised her role as the eldest perfect sister a year later for the sequel, A Very Brady Sequel.

Following her turn as Miss Brady, Taylor recreated yet another film role, Parker Posey's Mary in the short-lived Fox sitcom version of Party Girl. She had a recurring role on Ellen as a dim-bulbed blonde in Ellen's book group, and was on Seinfeld as Jerry's too perfect girlfriend. On Friends she concealed her long, golden tresses under a rubber cap to play Bonnie, Phoebe's bald friend.

Although she had enough exposure to catapult her into super-stardom, she was not being offerd larger and more frequent roles, which she believes is as a result of her staunchly refusing to do nudity on screen. Some of her major roles in the late '90s and early 2000s include the Madonna wannabe Holly in The Wedding Singer (1998), and Matilda Jeffries in Zoolander (2001).

She married Ben Stiller in May 2000 and they have a daughter, Ella Olivia, born April 10, 2002 and a son, Quinlin Dempsey, born July 10, 2005.
