When the eccentric Miss Charlotte replaces the sixth grade teacher of Sainte-Cécile school, she manages to motivate her pupils to complete their day's work in the morning, in order to devote the afternoon to various amusing or creative projects, including reviving the school library. Meanwhile, Charlotte' initiatives disturb the plans of the principal who decides to try and get rid of her.
