In the official trailer for Victoria & Abdul, Queen Victoria (Judi Dench) says she is currently the longest serving monarch in history, before we see her doze off at the dinner table. Next, we meet Abdul (Ali Fazal), who is told he will travel to England for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee — which symbolizes 50 years on the throne. He is traveling from his native India to present the monarch with a ceremonial coin. “Whatever you do, you must not look at Her Majesty,” he is told. But, after approaching the Queen, when he makes eye contact, we see it leads to the Queen and Abdul establishing an unlikely friendship.
