After a boy is caught by the DEA smuggling opioids at the border, the truth behind the opioid crisis begins to unravel. It turns out the boy is the missing son of a concerned mother (Evangeline Lilly), and was forced to act as the courier. Meanwhile, a company at the forefront of painkiller medication has finally created a non-addictive formula. When a university professor (Gary Oldman) and his research team discover the drug is deadly, the professor has a difficult decision to make.
