The trailer for Brigsby Bear opens with James Pope (Kyle Mooney), 25, who is watching his favorite show, Brigsby Bear, on VHS. There are several stuffed Brigsby Bears in his room. A man (Mark Hamill) tells him there are other people out there, just like them. We then see police lights flashing in the distance. It turns out that James was kidnapped as a child. Finally freed, the world seems very big to him. Having been treated as a child for so many years, James is socially awkward and has trouble fitting in.
