Veronica Henley (Janelle Monáe) was enjoying a beautiful life with her husband and daughter when she was chosen and transported back to the terrifying Antebellum era, where Confederate soldiers are in charge of the women. But instead of facing her new reality, Veronica works together with the other women to try and get back to her old life.
