Edward (Sebastian Stan) goes through life being ridiculed for a condition that makes his face look deformed, so he decides to undergo a medical procedure. The lumps on his face begin falling off and when the procedure is completed, he winds up with a handsome face. His new happiness about having a normal look changes when Oswald (Adam Pearson), an old friend with the same facial qualities Edward used to have, comes back into his life.
