Small town Deputy Sheriff Deke Deacon (Denzel Washington) is teamed up with L.A. Sheriff's Department Sergeant Jim Baxter (Rami Malek) to track down a serial killer. Deacon has a theory on what kind of man is behind the murders, but his prime suspect (Jared Leto) is set free when he provides an alibi. Meanwhile, Deacon and Baxter discover they have different reasons for wanting to catch the killer.
