Businessman Neal Page (Steve Martin) wants to fly home to spend Thanksgiving with his family, but when a blizzard causes the plane to become diverted, he winds up sharing a motel bed with Del Griffith (John Candy)—a loud-mouthed salesman who leads Neal on a cross-country, wild goose chase.
