In the official third trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we open on the gang (Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Groot (Vin Diesel), and Rocket (Bradley Cooper) doing battle against a tentacled space monster. Cue the mixtape and it’s clear the galaxy-saving group are back in the groove – and they’re going to need to be. After learning of their flaws and that the universe is to be rid of weak beings like them, they’re going to be called upon (again!) to save the galaxy. With a host of weapons, ships, new sidekicks and a stellar soundtrack, the Guardians get back to doing what they do best: banding together as a family for the greater good – except this time they’re getting a surprise new addition: Peter’s newfound father, Ego (Kurt Russell).
