The only negative thing I would say about The Last Samurai is that the timing of the release couldn`t have been worse. To be up against Lord of the Rings at the Oscars is a real shame, as I feel that Cruise`s film could only be overshadowed by a film (Trilogy) as huge as that. The Last Samurai is a film with strengths in so many areas (too many to go into here). Me and my husband can honestly say that The Last Samurai was the BEST movie we have ever seen. We were so overwhelmed by various emotions that we had to stay in the theatre for a few minutes after the movie to return to reality. ****** a six star movie!!!

One of the few modern films that I would (and will) go to see for a second time. I know a little of the period, and I was impressed by the accuracy and that this in no way hampered the excitement. Really enjoyed it. Colin

The Last Samurai was the best film I`ve ever seen in my entire life - outstanding casting and acting. Ken Watanabe made the movie what it is. I`ve watched it 5 times already and can hardly wait to purchase the DVD.
