It really wasn’t about near death experience. It was more about religious beliefs from the viewpoint of the filmmaker.
I was excited about the topic and movie. As a Christian, I'm excited about heaven. Sadly, this was a bunch of people talking randomly about what they believe generally. Even including someone who had completely given up their faith and no longer believes in God. The whole thing was weird.
Not what we expected. There was no evidence presented besides a couple of personal near death experiences. Movie was all over the place. Focused on things not even related to the topic (Lee S’s life growing up; how he met his wife; a cameo appearance of Francis Chan). It didn’t make sense.
We walked out! I’ve seen better stuff on Netflix! Complete waste of time and money. I’m not even sure what the purpose of some of the speakers was. The Chinese guy in the cemetery? Was he just someone’s friend? Complete crap!!
Lots of talk, all over the place. I wanted to like the movie but couldn't. It was incoherent and embarrassing. So glad I didn't bring nonbelievers to see this.
The film did not even begin to make a case for Heaven. It was a mish mash of ramblings, most not even about Heaven. I love Lee Strobel's work but was disappointed that so much of this film was about him rather than about Heaven.
I heard the Klove podcast and thought wow if this is just a light convo I would like to hear what else they came across. And nothing.... the podcast was as good as it gets. The movie was only a few experiences and the rest was traveling to talk to people whose overall convo did not enrich the case for heaven.
Wanted it to be good..
Lee Strobel is a NY Times best selling author and renowned journalist that makes the case for Life after Death with evidence indisputable!
