SPECTACULAR ! The best of the best actors, scenery, story, drama and incredible strength of a Woman. More entertainment in one film than any other movie. Special on the BIG SCREEN. Love it *****

I love watching the oldies up on the big screen . This one was exceptionally good . I hadn't seen this film before and to see it on the big screen was a treat . It would be cool to see newsreels from the day, before these classic screenings, it would be like a trip back in time .

I saw this when it first came out and was playing at the Old Walker Theater. It took almost an hour to drive there from the Middle Church in our old 28 Oldsmobile. We were just married, and my husband and I wanted a night out after the radio went down. I thought Clark Gable was the handsomest gentleman I had ever seen. Vivian Leigh was good too, but even then she was over the top and ruined a lot of the good parts. I suppose, it was an event I will always remember because it was the first movie I ever saw in color, and it told a good story. We didn't call them love stories back in the day. There wasn't much of that, except for the Bronte Sisters. But with them, every book seemed to be the like other books in a lot of things. It was a quieter time, I do miss the civility and the tranquility of the times.
