ROBERT LORENZ

Chicago native Robert Lorenz first moved to Los Angeles in 1989 to focus on his film career and almost immediately found himself rubbing shoulders with Hollywood's finest. Throughout the first decade of his career, Lorenz worked mainly as a second assistant director before taking on the role of executive producer for 2002's Blood Work, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood. Although Lorenz had worked on some of Eastwood's films before, Blood Work pushed their working relationship to a whole new level.

Lorenz went on to produce 11 more titles, including the Oscar-nominated films Mystic River (2003) and Letters from Iwo Jima (2006). Of those 11 titles, 10 were directed by Clint Eastwood and the other, 2007's Rails & Ties, was helmed by his daughter, Alison Eastwood. In 2012, Lorenz finally decided to take over the director's chair for Trouble with the Curve, a story about an aging baseball scout who goes out with his daughter (played by Amy Adams) for one last recruiting run. Being his first feature film, it only made sense that Lorenz would cast Eastwood as one of the leads, making it the first time in almost 20 years that Eastwood starred in a film that he didn't direct himself.

Lorenz is married to Melissa Cummins, who also worked as a second assistant director on a couple of Eastwood films. They currently live in Los Angeles with their two children.
