Date of Birth: May 15, 1960

The son of Hollywood director/producer Chuck Bowman, Rob Bowman began his career by directing second unit and inserts for Stephen Cannell Productions between 1982 and 1985. In 1985 he landed his first directing assignment on Cannell's action-drama Stingray. He then went on to direct a variety of hour and half-hour drama and comedies before directing 'Genderbender,' his first episode of The X Files in 1993. That same year, Bowman made his feature film directorial debut with Airborne.

The X Files became a staple job for Bowman, who went on to direct more than 23 episodes. He earned four Emmy award nomination for his work as a producer on the show. As a director, Bowman's other small screen credits include more than 20 hit series, including Star Trek: The Next Generation, Quantum Leap, Alien Nation, Baywatch, 21 Jump Street, and MacGyver.

In 1999 he received a Best Director nomination for his work on the feature film The X Files (1998) from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films. His next feature, Reign of Fire (2002), received a Best Film nomination at the Catalonian International Film Festival. Bowman then teamed with Jennifer Garner to bring Elektra (2005) to the big screen.
