JASON ISAACS

Date of Birth: June 6, 1963

Born in Liverpool, England, Isaacs attended Bristol University where in addition to studying the law, he also managed to direct and/or star in over twenty theater productions. Upon graduation, he attended London's prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama, which led to a role as a series regular for two seasons from 1989 to 1990 on the British show, Capitol City.

Beginning with The Tall Guy (1989) opposite Jeff Goldblum and Emma Thompson, theater work and some televisions appearances later, Isaacs was well on the way to a solid career as a character actor, mainly playing dark, taciturn characters who have an air of menace to them.

Isaacs continued to showcase his diverse talents with a starring role in Lynda LaPlante's controversial miniseries Civvies (1992) opposite Peter O'Toole, followed by the gangster epic Dangerous Lady (1995), directed by Peter Cattaneo. Other television credits include the corrupt soccer player Tony Kay in the BBC TV drama, The Fix (1997), a drug pusher in Loved Up (1995) and a miniseries, The Last Don II (1998). On stage, he appeared in the Royal National Theatre production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Angels in America - parts 1 & 2.

Notable performances include his role in the British cult hit Shopping (1994), Lord Felton in Dragonheart (1996) and DJ in Event Horizon (1997). In 1998, he appeared in Armageddon (1998) a fast-paced tale of an asteroid headed for a fatal collision with Earth, and the sci-fi flick, Soldier (1998) for director Paul Anderson, a longtime friend.

In the late '90s, he also appeared in the indie drama Divorcing Jack (1998) and the Oscar-nominated The End of the Affair (1999) opposite Ralph Fiennes and Julianne Moore. He kept busy in the 2000s, with roles in Patriot (2000), Sweet November (2001), Black Hawk Down (2001), Resident Evil (2002), and Friends with Money (2006). He also played the dangerously evil Lucius Malfoy, the father of Draco Malfoy, in the Harry Potter movies.

Jason played the role of Dr. Hunter Aloysius 'Hap' Percy, an unethical man who traps people in cages to use as test subjects on the hit Netflix series The OA, (2016 to 2019). He also appeared in the crime drama The Infiltrator (2016), Gore Verbinski's mystery thriller A Cure for Wellness (2017) with Dane DeHaan, the dark comedy The Death of Stalin (2018), alongside Steve Buscemi and the thriller Hotel Mumbai (2019) alongside Dev Patel.

Since 1988 he has been married to actress/producer Emma Hewitt, with whom he has two daughters.
