DOMINIC COOPER

Date of Birth: June 2, 1978

British actor Dominic Cooper had only been acting professionally for a few years when he found mainstream success both in the United States and abroad.

Born in Greenwich near London, England, Cooper knew he wanted to be a performer from a young age. He attended the Thomas Tallis School, a specialist arts college, and graduated in 2000 from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Getting his start in theater, Cooper was involved in Alan Bennett's play The History Boys from its very first reading, appearing in the Broadway, Sydney, Wellington and Hong Kong productions, as well as the film version for which he was nominated for Supporting Actor at the British Film Critics Circle Awards.

On TV, Cooper has had notable roles in the BBC mini-series Sense and Sensibility, as well as Down To Earth. Since playing starring roles in the major motion pictures Mamma Mia! and An Education, Cooper's star seems to certainly be on the rise.

Some of his roles include the role of Howard Stark in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Milton Greene in My Week with Marilyn (2011) and Henry Sturgess in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012). He starred in the 2014 motion picture Need for Speed, based on the popular video game of the same name. He was also seen in Dracula Untold (2014) and the Catherine Hardwicke drama Miss You Already (2015).

More recently, Dominic was seen as King Llane in the 2016 fantasy reboot Warcraft and in the sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018).
