DEMETRI MARTIN

Date of Birth: May 25, 1973

A native New Yorker, Demetri Martin dropped out of NYU School of Law to pursue comedy. He has won trophies for comedy in America, Scotland, and Australia.

Martin was a staff writer for Late Night with Conan O'Brien and a writer-performer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He released a comedy CD called "These Are Jokes" and a comedy DVD called "Demetri Martin. Person."

Martin writes, produces, and acts in Comedy Central's series Important Things with Demetri Martin. Following small roles in movies such as Analyze That (2002), The Rocker (2008) and Paper Heart (2009), Martin made his debut in a starring role in a feature film in Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock (2009). He also appeared in In A World... (2013) alongside Lake Bell.

His latest credit is the indie dramedy Dean (2017), which co-stars Kevin Kline and Mary Steenburgen. Demetri also wrote and directed the project.

Demetri Martin lives in New York City.
