Actress Bo Derek was born in Long Beach, California.

When she played Jenny Hanley, a woman considered a "10" in the movie 10 (1979) opposite Dudley Moore, Bo immediately gained enormous fame.

Bo had married actor/producer/director John Derek, 30 years her senior, on June 10, 1976 and he was her mentor, guiding her career to great heights. Together they formed Svengali Productions.

She quickly appeared in a number of other projects, such as Tarzan, the Ape Man (1981) and Bolero (1984) - both of which she also produced. She has worked fairly steadily over the years, playing leads in a number of TV series and TV movies - the most recent being Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! in 2015, but her main passion is for animals - horses in particular.

In her spare time, Bo enjoys riding and lives on a horse ranch in California. She is a member of the California Horse Racing Board and is also the International Ambassador of the Lusitano Horse.

Bo was widowed when John passed away at age 71 on May 22, 1998. She has never remarried, but is currently dating actor John Corbett.
