ADAM GOLDBERG

Date of Birth: October 25, 1970

This Santa Monica, California native started to concentrate on his future at a young age. With an eye for the screen, he began to study acting at the Tracy Roberts Institute at age 14. A year later, he turned to the Lee Strasberg Institute to further his ability. After graduating from high school, Goldberg moved to New York to study at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, where he performed in the college stage productions of Six Characters in Search of An Author, In Search of Justice, and The Informer.

After completing his studies, Goldberg returned to L.A. to continue his acting studies, this time with Lynette Katselas, and to get his career started. At the age of 22, he made his film debut in alongside Billy Crystal in Mr. Saturday Night (1992), closely followed by a small part in Dazed and Confused (1993) playing a neurotic high school junior.

Through the next few years, Goldberg bounced around from film to television in relative obscurity. Small roles in Higher Learning (1995) and The Prophecy (1996), along with voice work with Homeward Bound II did little to add to his fame. In 1996, he was cast in a starring role in the series Relativity, playing Doug. Although the series was short-lived, it garnered the notice of a number of fans, and director Steven Spielberg, who was casting his WW2 film, Saving Private Ryan (1998).

Goldberg soon found himself with a star-studded cast in Private Ryan, where he played Private Stanley Mellish. The exposure not only garnered him and his fellow cast members a Screen Actor's Guild award nomination for most Outstanding Performance by a Cast, but it also opened the door to Hollywood.

He soon found himself an actor in demand, and he took advantage of his newfound fame, landing major roles in films like EDtv (1999), Sunset Strip (2000), All Over the Guy (2001), A Beautiful Mind (2001) and The Salton Sea (2002).

The same year Saving Private Ryan came out, Goldberg completed a personal project, Scotch and Milk, which he wrote, starred in, directed and edited.

Currently dating actress Christina Ricci, Goldberg has had a number of girlfriends including Julie Delpy, Natasha Lyonne and Clea Lewis.
